BUILD is a 501 (3) (C) organization whose mission is to intervene in the lives of at-risk youth, in order to provide them with alternatives that will lead them away from a life of crime and violence, by providing quality educational skills, training, and employment services.
Our goal is to instill, in the youth of Robeson County, the values of our society, while respecting the existing values of the individual. The Build project focuses on three general assumptions:
1.
There are positive alternatives to self-destructive behaviors and societal pitfalls;
2.Everyone must assume responsibility for preparing our children to effectively deal with the
challenges and struggles that now confront our youth; and
3. There are positive and successful members of our community for them to emulate.
BUILD offers a structured environment for youth, ages 8 to 18. Its programs will consist of educational, cultural enrichment and community activities designed to provide a positive influence towards redirecting our youth who are at risk of dropping out of school or increasing their marketability skills in acquiring a job. The participants in the program will be engaged in activities designed to address and develop important life issues, such as self-identity, communication skills, social behavior, cultural exposure, business and entrepreneurship, male/female relationships, health and fitness, personal responsibility, substance abuse awareness and peer pressure.
The development of Build, a community based program, which offers guidance to youth, is a critical and necessary strategy. Its goal of redirecting our youth and providing them with positive alternatives and reduces their odds of being incarcerated adults or non-productive members of our society.
Build does not charge a fee for the participants in our programs but funds are needed for seed money and operation cost until we become solvent. All donations (tax deductible) are payable to;
