Black History Month 2012
 February 23, 2012

In celebration of Black History Month, RHC made presentation of gifts to the students of W H Knuckles Elementary School, on February 23, 2012.

RHC, presented a Shadow Box that displayed a Commemorative Card set with a Tribute Coin of President Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States. This card set was given during President Obama’s Inauguration. In addition, four books by Black authors were given to the school library: Sleeping Beauty, Thumbelina and The Ebony Duckling by Fred Crump, Jr. Poetry for Young People by Langston Hughes, and Something Beautiful by Sharon Dennis Wyeth.

In keeping with RHC’s commitment to encourage kids to excel in school, each student was given a sticker that read: W H Knuckles believes in You! Gene Jones reminded the students that our President had dreams and aspirations just like them, but he was only able to achieve his goals by studying hard. He encouraged them to do the following: to study hard, to know that it is not cool to be ignorant, and to realize that anything is possible if you get a good education.
